Vehicle: 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL, L4-2.0L Turbo, eTorque MHEV Automatic Transmission/Transaxle
Mileage: 68,144 miles
Problem: Upon starting the engine that morning, the owner said that the sway bar link warning light and a “Sway Bar Disconnect Unavailable” message came on in the dash. When the vehicle was put in 4WD Lo, the sway bar button on the front of the shifter started flashing.
Case Details: After connecting a scan tool, the technician found diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U1159 – Lost Communication with Automatic Sway Bar System in the instrument cluster module.

After looking at the wiring diagram in ALLDATA, the technician inspected the connector at the sway bar disconnect module and the wiring harness. He found that the harness had been cut by the A/C condenser.
Confirmed Repair: He repaired the cut wires, routed the harness away from the A/C condenser and cleared the DTC. A test drive confirmed everything was working again. Fixed!
