Dodge Challenger Window Drop Down Feature Inop After Body Repair

Vehicle: 2022 Dodge Challenger, AWD, V6-3.6L, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle

Mileage: 36,437

Problem: The body shop sublet this Challenger to the repair shop because the passenger door window drop-down feature was inoperative after they replaced the door. They suspected that something was wrong with the window. NOTE: The drop-down feature (slightly opens the window when the door is opened, and then closes it after the door is closed).

The technician tried calibrating and or programming the drop-down system but no luck. There were no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

A quick call to ALLDATA Tech-Assist got the diagnostics on track. The consultant suggested using a capable scan tool to check the “door ajar” switch. Those switches provide the input used to lower/raise the door glass.

The technician inspected the passenger door ajar switch as suggested and found no response from it when opening and closing the passenger door.

Confirmed Repair: He replaced the door latch assembly (which includes the “door ajar” switch) and the window drop-down feature worked normally. Problem solved!
